Today I want to tell you about our local Jazz Band, The Royal Sapphires. They were formed in 1984 in Grangetown and are the largest marching band in the area with over forty members, ranging from ages five, to thirty six! (See, it's never too late to learn to play the kazoo people!)  And every Sunday they compete against other bands in the area.

Recently, the group walked all the way from Whitby to St. Marys Social Club in Grangetown in order to raise money for their smart new uniforms. When The Royal Sapphires aren't wearing their formal uniforms, they are kitted out in hoodies printed by Redcar Urban Arts...Here's a pic of the snazzy logo...
